THEESatisfaction, one of Seattle’s premier new musical acts, will be hitting the road in the coming weeks. Here is the duo performing an a capella rendition of “Bad March” on the hill at Gasworks park. Cities, venues, and dates will be announced soon, but it is worth noting that the gigs were managed and booked entirely by THEESatisfaction themselves, and they could use help covering the costs of the tour with donations. Give them an assist here:

Last week when I was at the bank I avoided filling out a slip and just handed the teller my card. I asked if she needed my account number and she replied “Nope, got it right here” and smiled. She could tell I was confused so she put down my card and explained to me that my account number was actually hidden in my check card number. Yesterday I came arcoss this little article on lifehacker that sheds a little more light on the numbers (no, not those numbers)
The string of numbers on you credit card houses a batch of information. For instance, the first number tells you what kind of card it is—4 for Visa, 5 for MasterCard, and so on. Visa cards are always 16 digits long and have other identifying characteristics:
When looking at the balance of the numbers, the 2nd through 6th digits are the bank number, and the 7th-15th numbers are your account number. The remaining digit is known as the “check digit,” which is used to help determine whether or not the overall number is legitimate.
The first official single from the RAAAAAAAANDY mixtape has dropped and it’s effin LMFAO ROTFL LOL! it’s strategically titled AAAAAAAANGRY. Raaaaaaaaandy aka Aziz Ansari is callin out rappers like Jay-Z, Drake (last name ever, first name slowest!), Dr. Dre, MF Doom (can we get a fake MF Doom or something?), and Kanye for not sending him their lyrics for all the beats he sent out to them. I guess we know why the project got pushed back! Anyway, download this shit right now! Shit is fire! And when the mixtape officially drops, check the name Bantog. He’s gonna be bigger than New Years Day!
On the evening of February 9th, the self-described ‘psychedlic-space-rap-jazz’ duo THEESatisfaction headlined the all-female lineup of “Ladies Night” at Neumos in Seattle. Borrowing and transcending SA-RA’s “Fantastic Vampere”, the women take to the stage to perform “Moonday School (The Intergalactic Church)”. More live footage of these local trailblazers to come.
This song is called “Illinois Act III” off of Budo’s new album, One Bird On A Wire. Although I first met Budo on his Holiday tour with Grieves last year in Boston, it was not my first time hearing his music. Since then I have seen him a handful of times, strangely enough -- never in Seattle, only on the east coast. His production is amazing so when he sent me a copy of his new solo album, I was so excited to hear it -- AND I have continued to listen to it over and over and over and…you get the picture. The beats are on point, his trumpet playing is beautiful, his simple but harmonically appealing melodies will be stuck in your head, his lyrics and voice are pleasant listening, and his passion for music is naturally demonstrated through his impressive compositions. It just amazes me the kind of skill he has already mastered at a young age and it makes me excited to think about the progression of his music years from now.
You can buy his album here:
Like all hip hop projects, this one has been pushed back. Perhaps they should stop smokin blunts, stop drinking gin and juice, and pass on the hoes and tricks. LOL. Anyway, definitely worth the wait.
