If you were sleeping all day yesterday, or maybe disconnected from the matrix you may not have heard that the homies Sosa and Roger dropped some ear candy for all to hear. DillaSalute.com is a passion project/tribute for the late and great J Dilla. The site and download was made available at midnight yesterday coinciding with the anniverery of Dilla’s passing. The zip file contains a 73 min live mix by Sosa and 5 bonus tracks from Roger.

Big ups to both of the homies, yall got the internet goin nuts.

STAY FOCUSED.


For those of you with no self control but would like to be productive, Stay Focusd is the tool for you.

Windows/Mac/Linux (Chrome): It’s okay to fit a little social networking and not-quite-job-related news reading into your day, but mental limits are hard to stick to. StayFocusd sets timers on the sites you know are addictive, then blocks them when time’s up.

Rather than set individual time limits for each site, StayFocusd asks for a total amount of time you want to let yourself spend on all your non-productive sites. Kind of a clever restriction to have, because you just know you’d be heading right over to Twitter once your Facebook timer ran out, and vice-versa. StayFocusd does get specific on site URLs, though. You can timer-block the entirety of Reddit, for example, but leave the link submission section open for use throughout the day.

CLOUD NICE STUDIO (JUNEAU/PLUTO)

A couple days ago I had took a trip down to the Cloud for a meeting with my brother from another Tay. After business was finished, we took a listen to an almost finished version of the upcoming album HELLADOPE: Return To Planet Rock. I had my puter with me and was lucky enough to record some secret footage. Peep game.

If you were in awe as I was wondering who was on the hook, it’s none other then the lovely  @IsabellaDuGraf (follow her, I hear she wants 400 followers by her bday).

The first video is a little more entertaining in that you see normal people T-Pain’in’ it up as best as they can to “Buy U A Drank.” But don’t sleep on the second video (re: Miss Keri Baby)! JAY-Z ALBUM COVERS.

To go along with the Jay-Z theme on the blog recently, here’s one of the dopest “commercial” I’ve seen in awhile (never seen it on TV though. I skip commercials all day).

But why Rhapsody? Does anyone even use that service??

Jay-Z has teamed up with Rhapsody® and MTV to promote the highly-anticipated release of his new album, “The Blueprint 3.” As part of the partnership, the entire album will be available for fans to listen to for free on Rhapsody.com and from MTV’s “The Leak”, almost two weeks prior to its official release. In addition, Rhapsody will also make the new album available for purchase beginning September 8, three days ahead of the street release, and will include two exclusive bonus tracks.

Leading this partnership, three new Rhapsody TV spots will debut starting on September 1 across MTV Networks. In addition to two 30-second ads, Rhapsody will premiere a 60-second version of the ad in the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13.

The Jay-Z spots are the latest installment of Rhapsody’s ongoing “Fans Get It” campaign. Rhapsody’s “Fans Get It” campaign kicked off earlier this year with a massive promotion around Green Day’s hugely successful release “21st Century Breakdown,” followed with more promotions with top artists in genres from pop to country. The “Fans Get It” campaign has utilized a similar treatment through all the ads, which celebrate the culture and iconography of artists’ careers, enabling them direct involvement in the creative development of the spot. These high-profile promotions both serve as a great vehicle to further connect music fans with the artists they love.
